Thanks for your nice response. And I would like to comment on the BusinessPanama web site as one of the best, straight forward, factual, and without so much of the hype I've seen in many other sites.

Being unfamilar with all the building costs there, as well as all the items to be considered with the costs...road, water, electric, telephone, septic...and then the house! I guess we would consider an initial investment of $200,000. It would be nice if that would include a small dwelling/cottage so that we could live on the land while building the main house.

As I do not understand the economics of coffee growing, any positive cash flow that could result to the owner (me) would be put back into the land.

One other item that I have not been able to find anywhere here is a real good map of the area. Is one available there for purchase that could be sent to me prior to visiting, such that we might have a better idea of the area?
