Coronado is located one hour by car from Panama City and this proximity was a major consideration when we bought our house. Coronado has very convenient shopping and services including a large and modern, 24x7 "Rey" supermarket, a 24x7 hour pharmacy, a first class bank (Global Bank), and a number of excellent restaurants and fast food locations. The medical clinic in Coronado is open 7 days a week and staffed by English speaking doctors. There are many flower and gardening centers, four or five building supply and hardware stores, a lumber yard, an outdoor vegetable market, one or two clothing shops, furniture stores, pet stores and the like.

The Coronado Country Club, around which the town has been built, is a top rated PGA golf courses in Latin America with a par 72 and 7,092 yards of fairways. The Country Club includes excellent facilities in many categories as described earlier. For example, the Equestrian Club has weekly shows in a stadium with quality dining facilities. For the above reasons, and more, Coronado has become an attractive location for many expats and locals alike.

An increasing number of American snowbirds and retirees are choosing to buy a second home on one of Panama’s Pacific Coast beaches.
