Third Power Transmission Line Recorded 85% Progress

Business Panama ImageThe Minister of Economy and Finance, Dulcidio De La Guardia, reported that the third power transmission line has 85% of progress.

The work, once it is completed, shall ensure a reliable and secure energy supply that will be demanding the population growth of the country in the immediate future. De La Guardia also chairman of the board of directors of the Empresa de Transmision Electrica (ETESA), explained that the project that anticipates this State enterprise will transport 800MW of electricity to consumption centers, in particular in the most important cities.

It is expected that the third power transmission line between into operation in the first quarter of 2017.

In this last phase of the project, is working in all the stages, which are increasingly close to the capital city. In addition, they are already doing the excavations for the foundations of the two towers TX2 that will pass through the Panama Canal, to a side of the Centenario Bridge, and that will have 155 meters of height.

The holder of the MEF gave these statements on Saturday, at the end of the day of reforestation that his team developed in Cocle along with the Ministry of the Environment and during a tour of the Wind Park of Penonome. "Panama has made a lot of progress with regard to the diversification of the energy matrix and each time we work more with clean energy. This work generates 227 MW from wind, supplying electricity to more than 3 thousand homes daily", he stressed.
