The Panama Maritime Authority (AMP), after having developed in the past days the first phase of the bidding process for the study, design, development, approval of plans and construction of the Amador Cruise Terminal in the Pacific sector in the Area of ​​Isla Perico, proceeded with the opening of envelopes with the economic proposals as established by the bidding mode for best value with separate evaluation, selected for this project.

The AMP announced its estimated price for the technical team of the entity for this work, which amounts to US $ 165, 708,327.43. The Consorcio Cruceros del Pacífico, composed of the companies Jan de Nul and CHEC, as the only company that in the first bidding phase met the technical parameters required, presented its proposal for the sum of US $ 197, 030, 376.00 , Previously corroborated by the verification commission.

The consortium Cruceros del Pacífico, as established by the law of public procurement for this mode of best value tender with separate evaluation, must adjust its price to the amount estimated by the AMP, by modifying the project schedule or design, without To fail to comply with all the minimum parameters included in the specifications.

The Maritime Affairs Minister and AMP Administrator, Jorge Barakat Pitty, expressed confidence that once the formal mechanisms for solving this tender have been finalized, the AMP and the country will have a project that will be the jewel of the Pacific, Which will come to drive in a strong and sustained way our national tourism.

It should be noted that this work, which must be completed within 24 months, will be public administration.

For these operational purposes and in order to offer an efficient and excellent service, the AMP will soon sign a cooperation agreement with the port of Hamburg and has already begun talks with the port of Valparaíso in Chile for the signing of technical agreements.
