Panama Canal receives the largest vessel that crossed the Panamanian isthmus

Cosco Development became the largest and most heavily loaded vessel to transit the Panama Canal since the opening of the new locks in June 2016.

According to the Panama Canal Authority (ACP), this vessel is capable of carrying 13,435 TEUs. It measures 366 meters in length and 48. 2 of mango the ship began its trip in Asia and will become the ship of greater capacity to arrive at the east coast of the United States when it arrives there next week

"This is yet another example of how the expansion exceeded our original expectations and was made possible by our continued investment in the training of Canal workers," said Quijano.

"Up to now, 15 neopanamax line services have redirected service to the Panama Canal to take advantage of all that expansion offers, and we expect even more in 2017," said Argelis Moreno de Ducreux, international trade specialist for Canal Panama.
